6V Battery Charger
6V Battery Charger Circuit
Today many battery chargers are available in the market for various types of batteries with voltage levels that can be configured including 6V battery charger in addition to the above voltage level such as 9V and 12V. Features of the battery charger is terminated automatically when the battery is fully charged.
But if you have knowledge of practical electronics. And you want to try to build a battery charger. This is a good idea. Due to assemble a cheap battery charger not take too long even components that are required not much. (See Figure. 6V battery charger)
Here is a 6V battery charger circuit diagram used for this type of Gel Cell batteries. The battery charger circuit diagram using two active components of the IC timer 555, power transistor TIP31C and other passive components.
6V Battery Charger Circuit Diagram
This 6V battery charger requires a 10V DC regulated input voltage, and capable of supplying current to 2 amperes. Starting at 240 mA charging period and fully charged automatically switch to float condition (trickle charge) of 12mA. The capacitor used should be 50V ceramic type or better.
The 6V battery charger specification of these included using TIP31C as switching, 8-pin NE555 as Timer / Oscillator and for R4 to R7 is selected type 1% metal film. You can use a voltage regulated with a transformer that can supply current about 2 Amperes.
Both can begin to assemble accurately by using the components as required. Good luck experimenting and don’t let your hungry stomach. Here’s how to fill your own gel cell battery using a 6V battery charger.
